Neuropsychological Tests PDF Print E-mail
At our Center there is a section of neuro-psycho-oncology where we administer:

1)    Neuropsychological tests in order to assess the impact of:
  1. Epilepsy
  2. Brain tumor

2)     Neuropsychological assessment during follow-up to check if possible side effects of antiepileptic drugs can affect cognitive performance and quality of life

3)     Sessions of cognitive rehabilitation for the following cognitive domains:

  • Memory
  • Attention
  • Perception
  • Language

All tests administered are easy to perform, do not cause discomfort for patients and are completely painless. The cognitive domains are analyzed with the following specific and standardized neuropsychological tests:

  • Attention and executive functions: Frontal Assessment Battery, Trail Making test, Attentional Matrices
  • Memory: Wechsler Memory Scale, Rey Memory Test, Story Recall test
  • Reasoning: Raven Progressive Matrices, Coloured Matrices, Wisconsin Card Sorting Test
  • Language: Token test, Verbal Fluency Test

For the classification of the patient on the basis of anxiety and depression disorders that may affect patient compliance, we use the following tests:

  • State Trait Anxiety Inventory
  • Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety
  • Zung Self Rating Depression Scale
  • Hamilton Depression Rating Scale

For self-assessment of quality of life in patients we administer QOLIE 31-P

For the evaluation of side effects of antiepileptic drugs we administer the Adverse Event Profile

To assess the quality of life, we administer the EORTC QLQ-C30
